POLICIES

At The Heart of Muskoka Cottage Resort our staff has your best interests and value your privacy. We will not release any private information such as: your name, address, email, phone number, credit card information etc.

1. For everyone’s comfort and relaxation our policy is that all are to be quiet by 11:00PM

2. Smoking is prohibited inside the cabins. Please use designated ashtrays located on each porch. Do not dispose of cigarette butts on the beach, grass or on any grounds of the property.

3. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is permissible only by adults 19 and older.

4. Due to the safety of our guests, glass is forbidden on the beach.

5. While following local regulations, we have a main fire pit situated in the field as well as a lake front fire pit located on the beach. There are also moveable fire pits that can be placed in front of your cabin for your groups use.

6. No fireworks are to be discharged on the resort at any time.

7. The garbage disposal is located just shortly up the hill on the right (beyond the parking lot see site map for location). Everyone is responsible for disposing their garbage during/after their stay. If you are in need of more trash bags or cleaning essentials please ask the main office.

8. We have cots available to rent for the duration of your stay for a small fee of $25.00

9. Please refrain from bringing glass down to the beach due to the safety of all our guests.

10. Do not drink the water from the tap unless boiled.

Your Stay

The Heart of Muskoka Cottage Resort has recently completed renovations inside our cabins. Please keep the cottages clean inside as well as outside.

We supply every cottage with 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towel, dish soap and sponges.

Rental Deposit

To reserve a cottage a rental deposit of 50% of your total stay is required when booking.

Check In/Out

We ask you to please take note of check in/out times as we only have a limited time period to clean and prepare for the next group.

All guests and visitors must register at the Main Office before utilizing the grounds.

Check in for rentals is at 3:00PM (unless otherwise prearranged).

Check out for rentals is at: 10:00AM (unless otherwise prearranged).

Excessive Cleaning Fee
Upon check-out we will access the condition of the cabin that you stayed in at The Heart of Muskoka Cottage Resort. If extreme cleaning is required there will be an Excessive Cleaning fee of up to $200.00.

Cancellation Policy

Being a small, family operated seasonal business, any cancellation has a significant impact on our operation. If you wish to cancel your booking you must give a months notice before your accommodation date. If you cancel under a month notice, your deposit will be lost.

Extra Guests/Visitors

Cottage renters are allowed to invite additional guests/visitors while staying with us provided that your guests are fully aware and prepared to follow the ground rules and policies of our resort.

Prior to any extra guest(s) arrival you must make arrangements with management to inform us as to how many nights each guest will be staying to ensure that everyone is being accommodated accordingly.

Each cottage is designed to accommodate a certain number of people and ONLY management is allowed to determine how many additional guests is acceptable for each cottage.

The extra cost per person/per over night is $50.00
If a guest is only visiting for the day, the day fee is a cost of $30.00

Pets

We are a pet friendly resort keeping in mind the cleanliness of the property.

Please clean up after your pet both inside the cabin as well as outside on the property.

There are designated disposal bins for pet waste.

Do not leave your pet unattended at your site.

No loud barking or disorderly behavior is tolerated.

All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when outside.

The Heart of Muskoka Cottage resort has two firepits stationed on the property (on the beach and in the
field) alongside firepits outside each cabin that are moveable within the property.
